TV Review-----BEST FRIENDS FOREVER

NBC is having a rough year. They just can't seem to find a hit show. THE PLAYBOY CLUB disappeared after a few weeks, SMASH isn't the "smash" they hoped for, and BENT got rave reviews but can't find an audience and aired it's final two episodes tonight. BEST FRIENDS FOREVER is the latest attempt to find the next big sitcom hit. Sorry, Peacock, but this ain't it. It's perfectly harmless and I laughed out loud a few times, but in a timeslot opposite AMERICAN IDOL and the ABC Wednesday night comedy lineup, it doesn't have a chance. It stars three actors that I had never seen before and although they are all servicing the material well, not one of them is going to be the next big breakout star of this tv season. The plot has a newly separated woman moving into the apartment of her best friend and her boyfriend. The usual "Three's Company" hijinks ensue and there are a few awkward attempts at drama that fall flat. I have loved BENT and am sad to see it end, but I suspect that by this time next month, BEST FRIENDS FOREVER will have suffered the same fate.
